About Us

I was born in the Horowhenua and have resided here all my life.  I have been in the building industry as a qualified carpenter and builder for over 40 years, exclusively building in the Horowhenua /Manawatu / Kapiti areas.  My father was also a self employed builder so you could say that building is in my genes I have been on building sites almost since I was able to walk. 

I have always had a passion to build and have a real pride and satisfaction when I complete a home. There is a real sense of accomplishment when handing over the keys at the end of every build to a happy and excited customer. 

To me the natural progression of Carpenter to then Builder and finally Craftsman is striving to build something different and always be evolving so to that end I am always looking and assessing  the latest materials and learning the latest techniques.  Complex builds for me give excitement, I have always loved a challenge.

How many builders live in a street in which they have built (and am still building) all the homes.  I am  surrounded by my customers all of which I now call friends.

Building is not stressful, not if you pick the right team, it is a hugely satisfying and enjoyable experience. When you use CDBL you will be getting me managing the whole project from start to finish, we only use highly experienced and qualified subcontractors.  We will never cut corners or use substandard materials you can be assured that your home will be built solidly, will be energy efficient and sound, remember  I live in the community in which I build.
